Job description:
This is a dual reporting role for The Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center and Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. This position offers telecommuting with the majority of any on-site requirements to be at the Methodist Willowbrook location. Responsible for complete and accurate data collection in accordance with state law as detailed in the Texas Cancer Incidence Act, Commission on Cancers Facility Oncology Registry Data Standards, and TMH guidelines. Ensure that all healthcare cancer information is thoroughly reviewed and assigned appropriate codes and staging such that statistical data base is accurate, complete, and timely for required reporting. Participates in continuous improvement, reporting, and follow-up programs in order to meet departmental goals. Assists manager in all aspects of cancer program activities.
Required qualifications:
Two years experience as a cancer registrar or one year experience and completion of a Cancer Registry Management Program approved by the National Cancer Registrars Association.
Required certificates, licenses and registrations:
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) by National Board for Certified Registars.
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Thorough knowledge of and ability to code cancer data utilizing International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICDO), FORDS, American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC), SEER Summary Stage and Texas Cancer Reporting Handbook. Background in statistics, medical terminology, and anatomy. Maintain strict confidentiality.
Education Qualifications:
High school degree or equivalent. Some college, including medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) by the National Board for Certified Registrars (must have certification).

Job description:
Perform advanced case finding and abstracting of cancer cases. Follows all analytical, living patients for quality of life and recurrence of disease and assists with outcomes analysis. Assists with preparation for multidisciplinary oncology conferences and compiles reports for American College of Surgeons reporting Required qualifications:
Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or CTR EligibleEducation Qualifications:
High School of GED Equivalence. Knowledge in medical terminology, anatomy and physiciology, and ICD-0 coding. Associates degree in related field preferred.

Cancer Registry Specialist
Job description:
Abstracts cancer cases for two ACoS approved programs as well as one NAPBC approved program. Performs follow-up as part of job responsibility.Required qualifications:
CTR with two years experience in the cancer registry field. Also, experience working in ACoS approved programs preferred. Strong computer skills necessary.Education Qualifications:
